David,

Given all the photos you took in New York, you should consider installing the Flickr Photo Gallery plugin and adding a very sophisticated photo album to your blog. Just a thought.

here is a tutorial if you are interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-W-3OIrJKg

Perhaps even break your 228 photos up into subsets, so you can harness the whole album approach. Ok, I'll leave you alone now.

it sounds like you had a great interview! i absolutely loved his description about the casting process- the actors being the pigments on a blank canvas, some of the colors may work for the painting or not. it creates such a great picture in your mind. hope the rest of your interviews are going as well as this one did.
love, Helena

david, i love your view on the work of the prisoners. I totally agree with you. I'm so impressed with their diligence and dedication to the show. sometimes i was really sad i didn't get to be in the parade- every time i saw them put their hats on... i always wanted to put one on.

it was weird having you backstage...but i liked it. i felt like you were back there as a prisoner and still asst. director. thank you for everything you did for the show, and what you helped me with. you were there for me, and i love ya for it. i'm here for you if you need me...

Sometimes I wonder how differently men and women really do think. I mean, I've never had the experience of seeing guys totally alone with each other and interacting. It's always different if I'm there, as I'm a girl. This show, however, spoke to the fact that maybe we aren't so different after all. I remember doing the exact same things when I went home for the first time after being at school. Some of my friends didn't go away for college; even they had changed and that was incredibly strange. Personally, I connected strongly with the characters and the show, even though I'm a girl.

Also, do you think Jess could get me in contact with any actors, and could I have her email address? Thanks!

I feel like thats a really valid explanation. The whole question of how much validity do we put do stage directions when we are performing a piece. Personally I side with the director, in that it was a directorial choice and his explanation about showing the state of non-arousal for that short period of time did not add to his particular staging. But, it is of course an issue that will continue to be debated as long as we do theatre.
